Great Idea

Have you guys ever heard of this - Vocation Vacations? I have heard of it a few times on the Today Show and various other places and I think it is the best idea ever.

Basically, the premise is that you can test out a hobby or profession you have always had an interest in before making any kind of big committment. Frankly, I wish I could have done this before college. At 18 (really 17 -- I am totally loving being the youngest of all of my friends now!) I had no clue what the possibilities were. Fortunately, I have had many jobs that I have been excited about and love my current one. But, it would have been helpful back then.

So, looking through the list of mentors and possible jobs on the site, this is what I would love to try:
Being a chocolatier - Honestly, how fun would that be? I would be as big as a house when I got home, though.
Be a private investigator - I would love this. Maybe I am nosy but I think it is really my love of solving problems. Again, self-proclaimed nerd.
Be a TV Production Designer - This probably comes from my love of TV. But, I think I have a bit of a knack for this, I will be honest.

Under Coming Soon:
Celebrity Personal Assistant - Now, that would be interesting. However, I don't like to be told what to do, so I think this would be short-lived.
Magazine Publisher - I love magazines, I swear I get at least 8 per month, so I think I would be a natural.

Not interested at all:
An Alpaca Rancher - but hey - to each their own
Being a Farmer - I would not pay to go work hard. Blech. But again, diversity is the spice of life.
(Are you seeing a theme here?)
Become a Milliner - I had no idea what this was. Apparently at hat maker. You learn something new everyday.
Become a Professional Speaker - I would honestly rather be an alpaca rancher or a farmer than do this. I have seriously improved but cannot imagine doing this as a life profession. Awful.

Some of these cracked me up, though, like donut maker, yoga instructor, dog walker...pretty sure I could find out about those by someone paying me instead of me paying someone else. Just sayin...

So, readers, let me know what your dream job would be! I am dying to hear!!!
