Do Gooders

This week Megan has sent me two great stories about companies on a mission. One is Tom's Shoes. Not only are the shoes super cute. You can purchase them and feel great about yourself. I think I am going to get the ones above. Here is the story:

One for One
TOMS Shoes was founded on a simple premise: For every pair you purchase, TOMS will give a pair of shoes to a child in need. One for One. Using the purchasing power of individuals to benefit the greater good is what we're all about.

Megan also sent me an email today from Crate & Barrel where they sent her a $25 gift card. Only it wasn't to be redeemed at C&B, it was to be redeemed at DonorsChoose.org. I have never heard of the site but it is great. Schools in need can list what they need donations for and generous donators get to contribute to causes close to their heart. Now, as I am on about every single retail email distribution known to man, I have no idea why I didn't get this myself. But, I will live vicariously through Megan, as the code can only be used once ; ). She gave to an inner city school in Philly. What a cool idea and a great feel-good factor!
