There's No Place Like Home for the Holidays
The day after Thanksgiving it was out with the Fall and in with the Christmas around here. So I thought I would show you some of my favorite decorations.
I don't know why, but I LOVE these nesting Santas. These used to be my mom's and she gave them to me. It may have something to do with my obsession with miniatures...
The first Christmas after Tommy and I were married, my mother-in-law took me shopping the day after to get a Nativity Scene. I was really picky about this for some reason and decided I really liked the Willow Tree version. I really love it. Tommy, however, finds their faces "scary." Whatev.
We really only had room to put the tree in - our office. I think it works in there because there are doors that we can shut to keep the dogs out. Carter seems to think all of the gifts are for him and proceeds to open them. He is on Santa's naught list this year.
I do love my tree and have fun with all of the ornaments. I have a ton of Hallmark, but I have some other fun ones, too. I have an entire collection of Starbucks ornaments. They have the cutest ones that they put out each year.
I'll even mix it up and so some non-Starbucks ornaments. Tommy and I got this on vacation somewhere...
Cupcakes, of course.
Megan got me this one this year. Isn't it cute?
Hard to see, but I love this high heel!
Tommy is 1/2 German, so we have lots of German ornaments on the tree. We got this one in Epcot in "Germany."
Tommy's aunt gave us this ornament. I especially love it because it is a Spode ornament and my mom has always had Spode Christmas dinnerware, so it is has a lot of sentimental value and, well, it is also a dog.
My newest ornament is this adorable owl that my friend Iris gave me tonight. Love it!

Everything looks beautiful, Katie, and I'm glad that you love decorating so much for Christmas!!
ReplyDeleteLove, Aunt Angie
Carter on the 'Naughty List'? NEVER! That that precious angel!
ReplyDeleteYour tree looks beautiful! I love all the ornaments too! I think the trees that are the most wonderful are not ones that are perfectly coordinated or designery, but ones that drip with sentiment and meaning. Yours seems very drippy to me. :)

Looks great. You didn't show Tommy's Santa though. Boo hoo. lovemom

ReplyDeletep.s. I LOVE your canisters! Where did those come from??
ReplyDeleteI love all the fun ornaments!
ReplyDeleteAh, I've been thinking about getting the Willow Tree nativity set!!! I'm really picky about them, too, and it's hard to find a set that meets somewhere between beauty and affordability!! We have a really pretty sterling nativity set, but it's small, and I want a larger one to be more of a centerpiece! :)
