Weekly Faves

Ha! I am actually posting this on Sunday. It is actually too hot outside to do anything. (97 with NO breeze today.)  Really, did August come two months early?

I did have a few favorites this week.  First, was actually a contest giveaway on Tatertots & Jello.  I just love these little state signs from Lily Gene prints. I do have a friend moving away soon…this would be a super cute gift!

Yesterday on Maddycakes Muse, she posted these really cute cupcakes that would be perfect for a kid’s party.  I also love that it takes absolutely ZERO artistic talent to do them.  Photo via Nothing but Country and full tutorial on Tidy Mom.

I was talking to my friend Mindy this week (the one that is getting married in the Turks & Caicos) and I was asking her what she was thinking of doing for her wedding cake.  She mentioned that she was thinking of somehow doing a Skillet Cookie since they are her favorites.  Being a cookie lover myself, I had to say this is one of the best ideas ever.  But I feel like she would still need a show cake.  I came across this one which would be super easy AND incorporate the cookie theme.  I love! Maddycakes Muse had a lot of great ideas this week. She posted this link to fiskars’ website with lots of diy tutorials for cupcake toppers.  These are so cute and make a great impact!

I am not sure if I just like this particular color of turquoise or if I happen to maybe have a love affair with bunting, but I just thought this chalkboard/memo board makeover from I heart Naptimes was really cute especially for a kid’s room or play room.

Love the Day featured a party this week and I thought it was such a cute theme. The mom from the blog The Macs had a camera/photo themed party because he son turned one in a '”flash.” I just thought that was such a creative idea! Check out the whole party. It is so cute!

Birthday girl posted this really pretty presentation of a bundt cake. I love it:

1- Because it is easy

2- Really, anyone could do this

3- The amount of effort is basically nill

I mean, I could do that banner on my computer and add some flowers. I am kind of inspired to bake a cake now!

I hope you guys all had a great weekend! Here’s to a quick week!

  2. I love the cake with the banner. I have seen some really cute ones like that one lately, but instead of the wood stick, they used striped straws.
