Grilled cheese, please

phone pics060311 009

Yesterday I was driving down Peoria on my way to Whole Foods and trying to decide what to have for lunch when I happened to remember that my friend Catherine at Sage had opened her new melt bar.  (Click here to read the Tulsa Food Blog Story on all of the different options.)

Ooooh, you guys! It was so good! I got the Caprese: Fresh Mozzarella, Tomato, Red Onion, and Basil Pesto on Italian with Balsamic Glaze.  Only, I don’t really do onions on a sandwich, so I chose to forego those.  I could taste the quality of the ingredients and it was a perfect sandwich.  And the balsamic glaze was to DIE for.  Catherine, you need to sell that by the bottle. I will totally buy the first one.

Also, I always am amazed by timing and how we are all brought together.  While I was at Sage, I was talking to Catherine and Chef Amanda Simcoe.  A woman came in and Amanda said, “Oh, Muriel is here.” I said that I also know Muriel, she used to be my Zumba instructor. Then Amanda and I put together we had previously taken several Zumba classes together.  First, I wasn’t even planning on going to Sage for lunch and then that Muriel would happen to come in while I was there to put it all together that we knew each other. Crazy.

I have a couple of other interesting timing stories that have happened to me recently.  One is a true testament to God’s timing for us (it actually has to do with someone else close to me, but is one of the craziest stories you will ever hear). I hope to post those later this week.

Oh! Another cool thing happened yesterday!!!  Remember how last week I wrote about how I had “known” Sarah from Life {Sweet} Life since 2005, but we had actually never met?  Well, I finally met her yesterday and she is just as sweet, fun and cute in person. And Manny – can we say so.freaking.adorable!  I think there were good intentions to take pictures, but Aja came too and we just go so caught up talking that a picture never happened.  For the record, I totally think Sarah and I would be such fun in real life friends.

Hope you guys are having a great weekend!  Today I helped throw a shower for my friend Emily and have some cute pics that I will share later.  I cannot wait for her to have her little one!

  8. I love Brookside. My favorite place is Cafe Ole because my friend, Lon, plays flaminco guitar there on Sunday evenings.
