Fal Flowers

When I used to have my floral design business, my mom was a HUGE help. She would spend many hours on her weekends helping my flower partner Brenna and I with whatever wedding we were doing the flowers for.

So after her surgery, my mom wanted to thank some of her friends that went above and beyond - spending the night, staying with her in the hospital, cooking meals, etc. So we decided to do some fall arrangements as thank you gifts. (And let's be honest, we kind of love to do this!)

We went to Sam's and got all of the supplies. We have roses, spider mums, mums and spray roses. We also got some fall foliage -- this is one of the only times you will see something artificial in a bouquet I do :).

First, we started with the roses.

Next filled in with some mums.

Then added about 3-4 large spider mums. (See it taking shape??) Also, I didn't mention this, but I always get my vases at Michael's. These are rectangular vases - which I LOVE and are about $5 a vase. You can always get an awesome arrangement with these.

I started filling in with the spray roses.

Then added the foliage - doesn't it make a huge difference?

And you know I love a bow. We used raffia to tie the vases. I love the natural look.
Here are all four of our arrangements together.
I think they turned out great!

  7. This is such a great idea! So thoughtful and unique. They turned out great, love the finishing touch with the bow, too.

My favorite place to find great vases is goodwill. I never visit GW without checking out that aisle and I almost always find something fun for a buck or two!

Loving all of the posts...catching up after having my baby and you've inspired me to get started on making my Christmas lists, too. I've got a few things but need buckle down! (And I so want to buy Wren a sleeping bag already!)
