Have I ever told you about my inlaws?
Marianne and Vic come over to our house EVERY day to let our dogs out. They love their granddogs that much. When we go out of town, they stay at our house so that the dogs are "comfortable." (Carter and Pudge love their grandparents VERY much and give lots of tail wags and sniffs in appreciation.)
As many of you know, my dad passed away in 2003 from leukemia. This could make things very difficult at the holidays, but instead my inlaws invite my mom, sister, Kyle and Finley to every holiday event. And they come to my mom's house, too. How lucky is that? Do you know how much easier my life is because of this?
Marianne and Vic also love my mom and hang out with her even when Tommy and I aren't around. (They may actually have more fun without us - ha!)
Last week when my mom was in the hospital Marianne spent the night at the hospital to help my mom out. Read that again - she spent the night IN.THE.HOSPITAL. Who does that? Only the most generous person in the world.
And this past week when my mom was out of the hospital, Marianne spent the night with her again at home. I love her.
Marianne and Vic also include my sister, Kyle and Finley in every dinnner out, birthday party, etc. They even get them gifts for birthdays and holidays!
Marianne has even watched Finley several times for Allison when she is in a pinch.
And these are just some of the nice things they do for us. They do so much for my sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews. And this is all without strings attached, guilt trips or unsolicited advice.
We are very blessed. We love you, Vic and Marianne!
You are SO lucky to have such great in-laws! Most people run when we even mention our fur babies.
ReplyDeleteI want to adopt them!!!
ReplyDeleteYou are so lucky. Your family is too, sounds like!
ReplyDeleteThe word 'blessing' is one of those words that really doesn't reflect the true weight of its meaning.
ReplyDelete"A favor, or gift bestowed by God, therefore bringing happiness" (so says the google web).
Yeah, I would agree they are a blessing for sure. Then again, Pudge and Carter aren't exactly small potatoes themselves. :)

You are right! They are simply amazing! 2 of the world's greatest and nicest people and you are lucky enough to have them as in laws.. I am lucky you married Tommy and I get to be included in that family now too! Love them!
ReplyDeleteHow blessed you are! I am lucky to have the same sort of thing going on! And I can tell you..it is a BLESSING beyond ALL BLESSINGS that they get along with and hang out with your mom! How wonderful!
ReplyDeleteHow awesome Katie! They sound wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThis is so sweet! And I'm glad you posted pictures after hearing stories about Tommy's parents. What a sweet family! You are very blessed!
ReplyDeleteThis post is so sweet! You are one lucky girl in the in-law department!
ReplyDeleteI am the lucky one. When Katie and Tommy got married, I had no idea I was going to be brought into a family that welcomed me and Allison and Kyle and Finley like they do. They ARE family to me. Katie once said that Vic and Mary Anne reminded her of Ronnie and I. The similarities are astounding and they like to do all the things we do. And Mary Anne is spontaneous, one of my favoirite things in a friend. I am the one that is truly blessed. Susie
ReplyDeleteYou in-laws sound like AMAZING people! You are indeed blessed!!! :)
ReplyDeleteYou and your husband are both lucky to have such great families!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful blessing and joy in your life - how nice to be able to share all of your families together. What a nice post, and I'm so happy for you and Tommy! How nice not to "stress" about family gatherings!!! love,Jennifer
