Impressed
So last week when I was looking for the perfect paint color for my office, I happened upon the Valspar (Lowes' house brand of paint) site. I noticed a little ad at the bottom of the page that said "Free Color Sample." Being that when I painted my room I purchased no less than 5 color samples from Lowe's, I thought this would be a pretty good deal.
Every day at 9:00 a.m. CST Valspar gives away 1000 free sample paints. Now, I was thinking I was going to get a coupon that I could bring into Lowe's and redeem it for a sample. Instead, I was taken to a color grid, picked a color and they said they would send it to me in the mail.
Much to my delight today, I received this package:
In addition to the sample chip they sent, they also sent three complementary colors that would look good within the room or an adjacent room, along with a nice thank you note.
I have to admit, I was blown away. I didn't pay a penny for this and thought that the packaging was amazing. I wish I was being paid for this endorsement, but I really was just super impressed with their offerings.

It was just so well designed. And you guys know I loved good details. In it was the paint sample I requested, a mini roller, a sample chip and a $5 coupon for a gallon of Valspar paint.
For the record, the color I ordered was Shiitake...kind of a green/gray/tan (are you sensing a theme here?). My next project is my half bath and I will definitely be using a Valspar paint.
This is so great! I'm getting ready to move from an apartment to a house and every room needs painting! Thanks for the tip!

I love this!! Thanks for sharing! We are about to paint our nursery so I would love a free sample color.
ReplyDeleteI found your blog from "In this wonderful life", but hadn't commented before. Thanks for the tip on the Valspar samples- I'm always wanting to paint things and those little samples get expensive! Great tip, and I agree, great packaging!
ReplyDeleteWow, that's pretty cool! Though I have to say, I'm very partial to the big Orange store and their brand of paint. Rhymes with lair. And hair.. and fair.. and rare.
ReplyDeleteGot it???? :)
Thanks for the info! I just ordered mine. We always use Behr, but I have been trying to make use of the little sample cans for small projects, so this will be great! I'm thinking about finding a mirror or some picture frames at Goodwill that I can paint and will just use the sampler for that!
ReplyDeleteI love that we are impressed by the same things. I can't believe they spend all that attention to detail for a promotional item. The mini roller is the perfect touch!
ReplyDeleteMy sis-n-law Lou Ann introduced me to your fabulous blog and I am a follower now!! I am totally going to order some paint samples now! You have the greatest ideas!! Thanks for the tips!
ReplyDeleteXOXO,
Jenny
That is SO cool {sad that I get excited about something like paint colors??}! Let me know how the colors turn out, I'm sure we'll be picking paint colors at some point in the next year, so I need to start making a list! :)
