Bumpdate 25 weeks and her name

The photos have got to improve, right? This is after work and pre-gym. Let’s just say it’s best that you got this photo than the one after I was on the elliptical. It’s hot out there.

How Far Along: 25 weeks

Total Weight Gain/Loss: She is definitely getting bigger. I wore a dress today that I knew when I put it on this morning that I wouldn’t be able to wear again while pregnant and throughout the day it got tighter and tighter. So I am obviously growing by the minute.

Gender: It’s a girl!

I know I have been hinting about a name. I have my new stamp ordered, but I do want to put the disclaimer out there…I am 99% on the name, but I won’t be 100% until it is on her birth certificate. :)

So without further ado, the name we have been calling her is:

A lot of our friends/family know the name and they have asked if there is any significance to it…and there isn’t a great story. We both just really like the name!

Movement: She is moving up a little, I think. I seem to feel her closer to my ribs.

Sleep: This week was fine.

Maternity Clothes: Still mostly dresses. My sister let me borrow some of her maternity clothes and I need to go through them and see what works. (She’s taller than me by 2 inches, which is a lot when you are 5’0”.)  Did I ever mention that Emmy has the exact same due date as Finley (she was 13 days early)? Isn’t that weird?

Symptoms: Nothing too new. I feel like an old lady sometimes when I get up out of bed, but I don’t really think this is a symptom. Just I have a new appreciation for aging.

Aversions: Fried food still.

Cravings: Tart things. I shared a lemon square with my sister, Tommy and Allison at lunch the other day and it hit the spot. Every time I see someone pin something with limes or lemons, I think I must have one. I have a feeling ice cream cravings will be on the list soon!

Best Moment this week: I started (and finished) registering! I am very grateful to my sister who went with us and told us what to get. You guys should hire her as a registry consultant. I would have been so lost and overwhelmed. Thanks, Allison! Love you!

We also had my dad’s family visit for the weekend, so it was fun to visit with them! I wish we saw them more often!

On a Carter note, we got him to go on a walk by himself five times last week! You have no idea how much we have worked with him. It is nothing short of a miracle. And that is not an exaggeration!

  1. You are too cute! And I LOVE her name!!! :)

  2. You always look cute!

    Love her name....perfect!

I am SO beyond happy about Carter and the walks....I have been thinking about you all and sweet Carter more then you know!

  3. Why am I always wordless when I read your posts?!

LOVE her name! It just totally fits you! ...does that make sense?? :-)

And couldn't agree more with registering... after two hours, I set down and let Justin finish. I didn't care what he picked at that point!

  4. Hi, Katie,
I love the baby's name, and it looks beautiful in the script you have chosen! We had so much fun visiting with you and all of your sweet family this week-end. You and Allison did a fantastic job on the Sunday brunch, and you have done a great decorating job on your lovely home. Your bedroom looks even more beautiful in person than it does on the blog. I can't wait to see you again, and I hope it's real soon! Love, Aunt Angie

  5. Very cute name. I especially love Leighton (maybe because I love Gossip Girl?!) I remember craving lemon around 13 weeks. I wanted those lemon ice chill things you get at baseball games. Luckily Minute Maid has a version in the frozen section at the grocery store. I can't believe you're over half way through!!!

  6. Emmy!!! Love her name! How crazy that your due date is the same as Finley's. :)

  7. Precious! I love the name. Registering is daunting without guidance!!

  8. You are adorable and I LOVE the name!! Emmy is one of my favorite names! Registering is one of the most difficult things to do ever, so yay for having that over with! Sweet Carter, I hope he's doing better.

  9. Love the name!! And I'm glad Carter is progressing - poor guy!

  10. KATIE - I love EMMY! And you look great. So happy for you and glad carter is adjusting.

    :) Amy H

  12. you are tiny! :) i think you look great! love her name!!

  13. Love the name and the tiny baby bump.

  14. LOVE her name, Katie! And oh my goodness, after meeting Allison's girls and Kristen's boys, your girl doesn't have a chance but to be the cutest, sweetest little gal ever!

  15. I LOVE her name! Love love love!

  16. Just love her name!! Although I would be amiss to say I was hoping for a "Jane" to be in there somewhere. Oh well, maybe someday. I kid, I kid.

Too funny she is due on Fin's due date! Clearly they are going to be bff's. Now just to decide who will wear the lock and who will wear the key....

  17. Love seeing my sweet niece's name! She is going to be just perfect!! I can't wait for her to meet her cousin BFF's. I am so glad I got to help you register!! I may have had more fun than you!!! Love you and that teeny tiny bump!

  18. Love the name. But, it could be because I'm a little biased since my baby's name is Emerson too but we call her "Emmy". Too cute. Congratulations.
