Emmy One Month

It is so hard to believe that Emmy is already one month old. That month flew by. As with anything else in my life these days, I am a little late. (This drives me crazy to no end as I thrive on being on time. It is one of the many things I am learning to let go.) I have to say going into this whole baby thing I was completely naïve. Talk about a learning curve! I figured if those girls on Teen Mom could do this baby thing it would be a breeze for me. Ha!!!!

Emmy is growing and becoming so much more alert! She is loving her play mat and likes to look at herself in the mirror. She also loves her mobile and to be sung to. (The Christmas music is already out in full effect. I somehow know no lullabies.) She is super fussy at night (and sometimes during the day). Trying to figure out what is wrong is like trying to solve the most complex problem that only one non-communicative infant can answer. Sigh.

Emmy the day we brought her home from the hospital. She was so sweet and tiny!

She is such a pretty baby and bring us so much joy. I can’t wait to see what our 2nd month has in store for us!

  1. Ha! You crack me up. I think you hit the nail on the head with most of that. There are definitely some highs and lows during the first few months. David and I feel bad because we kind of wish the baby days away with Brady because we know how awesome toddler time is! She is beautiful and the fun times are on the horizon! :) (oh, and you may never be on time again...I'm bothered by this fact, as well...)

  3. She is a doll! I love the reality of the pic of her crying. I'm sure you were frustrated at the time, but will look back at that and laugh. Those kind of pics are way better than the perfectly posed ones in my opinion!

  5. I love your one-month Emmy post. She is such a beautiful baby!!I know you and Tommy are great parents, and I've always said that being a parent is the hardest job you'll ever have . . . but it's worth it!! I've just come from mass praying for Uncle David, and I know you are praying so hard, too. Yesterday he said how anxious he is to see all of you soon.
    Love, Aunt Angie

  7. What a doll! Fortunately, the fussiness doesn't last forever and the joy she brings you will continue to grow. Good luck with your sweet baby girl!
