Emmy’s Nursery
I am pretty much finished with Emmy’s nursery (and let’s be honest, it will be like every other room in my house – it will never be “done”). So I thought I would go ahead and share!
As you walk in:
I made the two photos on the left to mimic the focal wall. I love how they turned out! I just bought the background and images on iStockPhoto to reflect the dogs and babushkas, which are Tommy and my two favorite things. (Well, Tommy couldn’t care less about a babushka, but he is certainly into the dogs!) I wanted to put these on the wall with her crib, but they were way too small for the scale of the wall. I still have no idea what to put there…but will take your suggestions when we get to that wall!
Here is her crib. I am obsessed with the bedding. I had it made on Etsy by Little Charlie May and I couldn’t be more pleased with it! She was awesome to work with…I changed the hot pink fabric about 4 times (no lie), but I am so in love with the final product!
This is just a huge wall with nothing flanking either side of the crib (cropped because the wall seriously looks boring), so if you have any great ideas, I am all open!
Here’s another picture of the bedding that Annie took where you can better see the ruffle up top:
Her bookshelf also kind of pulls in the quatrefoil that is featured throughout the room. Both the quatrefoil and “E” above her bed were purchased from Etsy seller Designed Beginnings.
View of her changing table. My mom made the “E” button (which is so super cute) and it fit in perfectly!
Here’s a close up of the photos. I made the You are my Sunshine, Love You and Every Good and Perfect Gift images. The round frame will include her “stats.”
The flowers on the lamp shade were made by Teal & Co.
And for fun, here are a few pics from her bathroom. My sister gave me these cute photos for Christmas last year and I am so excited I can use them in her room!
When my dad was sick in the hospital, he drew my sister and I each a picture for Christmas that year. It goes perfectly with the color of the babushkas, and I am so glad I can something he worked on in her room.
Special thanks to my mom, mother-in-law and sister who helped me so much making her room a perfect place. I just love to be in there and know she will too!
Oh, also, if anyone has any good mobile ideas that would go with the room, let me know. I haven’t found anything I just loved yet! (Granted, I have only looked at Pottery Barn Kids and Buy Buy Baby, so I am likely missing out!)
OMG!!! Katie, it looks completely amazing (and Susie and Tommy's mom too!) I love all the personal family touches with the puppy frame by the door {it's like Pudge & Carter are saying; "come on in...she's this way!"}, your dads picture too and the EMMY letters from your shower. And I love the bright colors against the perfect shade of gray for the walls! Holy hormones I am crying over here just looking at this room for such a sweet, lucky girl!!! Yeah, believe what "they" tell you about post-baby hormones for a while....cause I'm a blubbery mess!
ReplyDeletePS: I officially want to punch your "I'm not a robot thingy" in the throat. I know I say this every time, but COME ON!! Alex has invented a new game called "Hide the Dirty Diaper" and I could use a pass! Can't I just send it a vial of my blood and call it even?
I love it, Katie! Everything goes together so well. That bedding is amazing!
ReplyDeleteI love all of your personal touches with the dog, babushkas and your dad's drawing. Love that button E too. Great job! She will love it!
LOVE the nursery! It's so cute and I love all the colors.
ReplyDeleteOhmygosh this is simply adorable and perfect! I love the picture by your dad, the button E from your mom, the bedding, EVERYTHING. Wow... seriously this is amazing! I can't wait to see photos with her IN her fabulous room!!
ReplyDeleteOBSESSED with her room!! Love everything about it. Then, the picture your dad drew - amazing! That is so sweet you have that and get to use it in her room. I love things that hold sentimental meaning.
ReplyDeleteLOVE LOVE LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteKatie... this room is amazing! I have been wanting to see it for so long, and it is just perfect! Great job!
ReplyDeleteI loved the room from the first picture of the entry! It looks fantastic and unique and I wouldn't expect anything else from a Craig girl! Emmy will LOVE this.
ReplyDeleteIt's sooo perfect! Great job Katie and family!
ReplyDeleteOh, it is just perfect! I love all the details! You did an excellent job - what a beautiful nursery!!
ReplyDeleteHow pretty! What a great space. I love the artwork!
ReplyDeleteSo adorable!! I LOVE all the cute details!! Looks like you are ready for Miss Emmy!!
ReplyDeleteLove love love it!!! So cute! I love the bedding so much! Have you thought about doing those embroidery hoops with fabric circles on her crib wall? Do you know what I'm talking about?
ReplyDeleteL.O.V.E.! I can't even explain how stinking cute this is! I am doing a painted dresser too! LOVE HOW YOURS TURNED OUT!
ReplyDeleteOkay, Annie - the chick from Little Charlie May - is AWESOME! thank you for turning me on to her. I will order through her as well. Your bedding is adorable.
Take this for what it is worth...I didn't have a mobile for Mallory because I couldn't ever find one I really loved - and she was fine without one - but I really love them and want one for the new baby. So, I was thinking of doing yarn balls...that would be cute to mimic the yarn letters on her bookshelves.
Also, and I very much recognize that you are 37 weeks pregnant, but if you had the time and would want to me make me a quick print before or after Emmy arrives, I'd LOVE it and of course, I'd pay you! Can I send it to you by email? LOVE WHAT YOU'VE DONE!

Hi, Katie,
ReplyDeleteI don't even know where to begin with everything I love about Emmy's nursery!!!!!! I sat here smiling through the entire post, and then I was showing all the pictures to Uncle Ron . . . and I couldn't get through the last picture without crying!!! That is so sweet that you have the art work that your precious dad painted while he was in the hospital his last Christmas. Emmy's nursery is surely a labor of love from your entire family, and I absolutely love everything about it. The only improvement to be made is to put Emmy in it real soon!!!!
Love always, Aunt Angie
P.S. Janie and I are so much alike . . .I am still sitting here crying - and I surely don't have post-partum depression!!!
LOVE!!
ReplyDeleteKatie, it's beautiful! I adore the bedding and those sweet babushkas and the flowers your dad drew- such a sweet addition!
For your empty wall.. Have you thought about a mirror? (babies like to look at themselves) Or growth chart? Or a cute basket for toys? I realize that's not on the wall, just typing out loud :) Or maybe you'll have a sweet newborn pic you want to hang? Also- don't feel like you have to hang anything right away- you might find something you love as she gets older. Oh, I'm so excited for her to get here!!
It's gorgeous! I love the bedding and all the color and the pattern on the wall and how you incorporated it elsewhere. And the painting by your dad is so special! Emmy is going to love her room! Only a few more weeks until she's here!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe nursery looks absolutely adorable and perfect. I love all the special touches, and can't wait to see photos of your sweet little girl. You look great!! So excited for you. :)
ReplyDeleteKatie!! I absolutely LOVE it!! I knew it would be amazing, and it is beyond!! I am in love with all the quatrefoil. It looks amazing! All of the details are absolutely perfect. And the prints you made? SUPER cute!! You should sell those (hint, hint). :) Where'd you get the frames for them? So excited for you...she will be here so soon!!
ReplyDeleteawww! I LOVE IT! You did such a great job! the yarn letters are adorable and i love all of the art work too! and the bedding.. GORGEOUS. I am such a sucker for a good gallery wall too. Great job mama!
ReplyDeleteAnd you look AMAZING! So exciting that you had some progress at your last appointment! YOU ARE TINY! I can't believe you have only gained 18 lbs. well I can believe it because you are tiny but wow, that's awesome!
