Baby Books
I have gotten several books for myself and for the baby, so I thought I would share some of my favorites.
My sister gave me this one line a day journal and I love it. It is a five-year memory book where I record just a little snippet of our day. I think it will be so fun to look back over the years to see what we were doing on this day in 2012. I am sure things will be so different a year from now and to see how far we have come :).
Both my mom and sister gave me this book on the night I went into labor with Emmy. Oh my goodness….I read it and was crying my eyes out. (Hormones much???) But it is such a sweet book and would make a perfect gift to bring to the hospital for someone.
Prior to Emmy being born, Tommy and I watched this video. It is also in book form, but I am so glad we watched it! I would highly recommend it to any new parents to be. Obviously, we don’t have this down yet by any stretch of the imagination, but it really is super helpful.
I wanted to get an actual baby book for Emmy and I bought this one. It is super cute, has great pages and I think it will grow with her…if I ever get around to adding information. (I thought I would have so much more free time. Ha!!!!) Also, strangely enough, the designer of this book is also the person who designed the fabric for the baby bedding.
My sister-in-law let me borrow this book this weekend and I have already found it to be a life saver. I am sure this may save SEVERAL calls to the doctor!
I am sure one day I will have a post that is not baby related :)!
I love your baby posts, and I'm glad you must have at least a little "free" time. I gave both my girls the book On the Day You Were Born, and we had everyone who visited on the first day of birth to sign the book. I should have mentioned that to you sooner, but I forgot!! Maybe some of your readers can use the idea.

LOVE On the Night You Were Born! Still a favorite around here and still makes me teary
ReplyDeleteWe have On the Night You Were Born too. Sweet book. I also just filled in some 18 month info in Tully's regular baby book. I gave up on making it pretty--just getting the info in there in any color pen with some dates is good enough. We're already able to look back and reminisce.
ReplyDeleteI have the same baby book for sweets #2. I am SUPER picky about baby books, and I LOVED Mallory's but I couldn't find it again. When i saw this one, though, it was the closest and BEST one I could find to Mallory's. Such good taste you have. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing Katie. I will need these one day. . . and I'm so excited for the Mom's One Line a Day one. Those are memories she can read when she's older. . . I would have loved to look back and read what my mom was feeling or thinking when I was a baby. I'm so happy for you:)
ReplyDeleteWe LOVE on the night you were born. I give it as a gift often. Rhett reads it ever night and knows all of the words and when to wiggle his toes:). Where did you get her baby book, it looks cute!
ReplyDeleteThose are some fun new mom gift ideas. Thanks for sharing.
