This post was going to be about...

what I was loving on Wednesday...but that kind of didn't happen, so it is a hodge podge of things. First, what I am loving (and I just realized it is all pretty much food related): Okay, you guys, I am ADDICTED to Chopped and Chopped All-Stars. I come home everyday in hopes that I have an episode recorded. If you aren't watching, start today. You will learn something new. I promise.
I am also loving California Pizza Kitchen's Crispy Thin Crust Garlic Chicken Pizza.

Doesn't it look delish?

My friend (the one with the mini-donkeys) and I went to dinner last Friday night at Red Rock Canyon Grill and this was our dessert. Seriously, so, so amazing - cookie crust, ice cream, brownie and hot fudge.

And this is where the hodge podge comes in. I have kind of just been "meh" on our flower beds. Tommy works with a wonderful woman who LOVES to do plans for them. So check out what we will be working on this Spring.

Tomorrow is my very best friend Megan's birthday! She is also taking her CPA exam tomorrow so she can enjoy her night out :). This is Megan, Aja and I last year on her birthday:

Happy birthday, Megan!
In not so fun news, my Uncle David was diagnosed with cancer last week. I have been just sick about it and I saw this sign today: Tomorrow he is having an MRI as a follow up to a bone scan he had earlier this week. If you guys wouldn't mnd saying a quick prayer for a clear scan, I would so appreciate it.

I heart you guys!

You Learn Something New Everyday

I thought it would be fun to let you guys into my head a little bit. My phone saves all of my google searches and as I was scrolling through them today I had several laughs at myself. (I am nothing if not completely random.) So I thought I would share with you my new knowledge. I guarantee you will learn something today.

Google Search #1: So today while watching the Today Show I realized I didn’t know Prince Williams’ last name. Um, is this totally common knowledge and I am just a total moron? Well, peeps, the reason why I didn’t know this is that Prince William doesn’t really have a last name. It is Prince William of Wales.

His full name is William Arthur Phillip Louis Windsor, so his surname is sort of Windsor, though his grandmother (the Queen) has stipulated it is Mountbatten-Windsor, but the legal process necessary to change it is not yet complete. I didn’t go so far as to google whether he had a driver’s license…but that might be up next.

Google Search #2: Do donkeys have umbilical cords? I have a friend and she has mini-donkeys and I wondered if they came out attached. Just so you know…they do. Gross. (Is this common knowledge???)

Google Search #3: What is the gestational period for a mini-donkey? For reasoning on this question, see above. 11-13 months and they are 20 – 30 pounds at birth.

Google Search #4: Which then got me wondering what the gestational period is for a dog. People, 9 weeks. Like no time.

Google Search #5: My friend (the one with the mini-donkeys) and I were talking about the show What Not to Wear. Do you guys remember that guy who was the host before Clinton???

This one:

Who totally didn’t look like he could host a show about What not to Wear. His name is Wayne Scot Lukas. And he is a stylist. I seriously would have never known.

Okay, I hope you learned something today! (Or do I just not know anything???) Tomorrow I am bringing you some things I am loving.

Weekly Favorites

I kind of had a lot of favorites this week. So I will just jump right in.

For you April Fool's Day lovers, you will love all the fun ways to play with your food this Friday. Check them all out at Tip Junkie. Just to prove how fun these are, the first picture is not french fries, but cinnamon sugar sticks and jam. Um, hello cuteness.

This is not a hint to anything at all. I promise. But I am in love with pink and gray and I really loved this room featured on Spearmint Baby.

With April Showers on the horizon, I thought these cupcakes featured on Cupcakes Take the Cake were beyond clever.

I just really loved these flower arrangements. The birch bark, the colors, everything. These were featured on Spearmint Weddings via Emmaline Bride.

Not sure if you guys read the blog Glorious Sweets, but her sweets are truly amazing. Look how beautiful her purse cookies are!

One of my favorite blogs is Cookies and Cups. She is absolutely hilarious and the girl can cook. I loved these cupcakes. So, so cute and easy to do!

Lastly, my friend Sarah just got back from Haiti and wrote a beautiful post about her time there. I encourage you all to read it.

Enjoy!!

I want a change...

...purse! I am soooo clever! (I'll be honest...I am kind of cracking myself up.)

Seriously, have you ever seen anything cuter than this Kate Spade change purse???

I want one. But maybe not for $95...because if I bought this there would be no more change to put in it.
A follow-up to yesterday's post, for my fellow Twilight fans, the movie is set to come out on November 18th. TEAM EDWARD!!!!!

This totally cracked me up.

Cheesecake Dip

About a week ago on The Stories of A to Z, she posted a link to a Cheesecake Dip that was featured on Young and Crafty. Seeing as how I love cheesecake and that I also love dip, I couldn't get this out of my head. Seriously. I have thought about this for a week straight.

Oddly, I happened to have all of the ingredients on hand (a minor miracle):

Stick of Butter
Cream Cheese
1/4 cup of Brown Sugar
1/2 Cup of Powdered Sugar
1/2 Cup of Chocolate Chips
1 Teaspoon of Vanilla
Some Graham Treats for Dipping

You start by mixing the butter and cream cheese in a bowl with your mixer.

Next, add the powdered and brown sugars and mix again.

Add the chocolate chips and vanilla. Mix by hand.

And you are done. That easy!

It is amazingly fabulous. You will thank me later! Let me know if you guys try this!

Party Pics

Yesterday, Tommy and I went to one of the cutest child's birthday parties I have ever attended. My friend Addie had details like crazy. I am sure she will post the full details on her blog, but I had to share a few pictures I took with my phone. (Addie, I hope you don't mind, but I totally had to brag on how cute Owen's party was!)
The party had a cowboy theme. Seriously, didn't the cake turn out adorable? Addie used the cake decorator who did Finley's party and Tommy's 30th birthday cake.

Her sweets table was fabulous!

This was above the sweet's table...probably would have been nice to have gotten the whole pic together. But I guess this will encourage you to check her blog for pics in the next week or two!

Even the flowers were perfect!

How clever are these favors?

A smore bar:

And cutest cowgirl - (that's my sister with Finley) - check out her shoes!

Weekly Round Up

First, pardon my lack of posting. I have been here:

Well, not exactly the White House (don't worry, Kelsey), but in Washington, DC. (Also, can I get some props for my decent iPhone pic of our nation's first house? I may be improving.)

Never fear, though, my lack of posting didn't mean I gave up reading. I do have a few faves from this week.

I loved these party lights featured on Attention 2 Detail. They are all made from items from Ikea (sigh---surely Target would have something close) - cupcake liners and party lights. Love! You can get the full instructions from Ikea Hackers.

You know how photobooth props are all the rage, right? (They totally are. Though, truth be told, I have never actually seen any in real life.) I thought these featured on Celebrations at Home via One Sweet Party were very clever.

Lastly, you might begin to think I have Jello obsession between last week's post on Jello and this week's post on Jello. In reality, I haven't had Jello (other than in Jello pretzel salad - which, sidenote- totally rocks) since I was 5. However, I thought this Jello featured on Tangled and True was beyond beautiful.

I hope all of you have been doing well. Tell me your faves for the week.

Weekly Round Up

This may or may not become a weekly thing....depends on how motivated I am feeling on the weekends, but here are my favorite blog finds from the last week!

Adorable iPhone covers from kate spade via Styling Grace.

Love, love, love this wreath made entirely out of styrofoam cups from Twig & Thistle via Everyday Celebrating.

Stem Fabulous Parties posted the cutest DIY Printable invitations that Paper Source is now offering. I love the florals!

Remember that Project Runway episode where the designers got to create their own fabric?? Now, the rest of us can, too! Hoot Design Company did a great post on how to design your own fabric and have it printed by Spoonflower.

When I used to have my floral company, we did several "pave" arrangements that looked like purses or other everyday items. P is for Party posted one of the most clever floral arrangements - a floral rattle. I am in love! See the full post on On to Baby and see the florist's page at Shannon Leahy Events.

For some reason this cracked me up! Can you imagine how popular this Bill Cosby "art" made out of jello shots (featured on Fail Blog) would have been in college? And as I posted this I just now realized how clever this really is being that Bill Cosby is the spokesperson for Jello. Wow, I am slow!

And for your reading pleasure, my college roommate and good friend, Janie, posted this on my previous post naming the winner of the Pioneer Woman book. I am starting a petition to get her to blog more. Just beg her in the comments below. She is seriously the funniest person I have ever met. I heart you, Jane!! (For those who don't know - Pudge is one of my dogs.)
You know, while I am excited for Kitty and she seems precious....I am a smite bit concerned. I mean, I don't want to 'out' anyone, but, well, Pudge and I have been talking....emailing actually....and, the thing is, is that the words "it's in the bag" may have been mentioned....twice....maybe even thrice.
So, not being one to call sweet Pudgy a hurtful name that rhymes with 'fryer', I just have to note my concern. Just sayin'.
OK, who am I kidding?? Kitty will probably use this book to cook delicious meals whereas I would add this to my pile of "look how famous I am almost". But Pudge needs to own up. Just sayin'. :)
