It is always fun to know someone for awhile and then find out that they also moonlight in another profession. Megan introduced Tommy and I to Ben and Addie a few months ago and today Ben sent me a video he created in his side business doing wedding videography.

I will have to post my wedding video sometime. It is the opposite of great. Have I mentioned she only had one eye? My mom told me that was fine...she only needed one to look out the camera. Oh well, you get what you pay for ; )

So, I have had some great entrepreneurial ideas lately. But, again, they are so great they are already invented. Damn, I need to be faster! My latest and greatest idea was an online baby website where at the end of the year you can just print the book and you are good to go. I googled this and, yeah, pretty much done. Now, I could perhaps do it cuter, but I think that would make me just financially secure, not so much I-can-buy-a- 2nd-house-in-Florida-and-work-here-and-there-rich. But, I am not discouraged.
I do, however, want to open an online store of adorable baby stuff all in one place with one-orice shipping. Since all of my friends are having babies I have so many cute things I want to buy them but I have to go to about 8 websites to get it, increasing my shipping costs. Or, they just don't get the cute gift ; ). Here are some of the things I would love to sell in the imaginary store that I am sure I will never open:
I love these Bella Tunno pacifier clips. They are so trendy and cute and not too baby. Love them.
I have read about that Miracle Blanket that supposedly is seriously a miracle and your baby will sleep through the night like at 2-days old or something. Now that is great, but I would want a cute one, like this one below. My cousin, Jennifer, told me about Inch Bug. She said it was her favorite gift to give when she knows the baby's name and I have to say this idea is brilliant. I have already gotten it for two friends and I absolutely love it! I just wish I would have invented it. Basically, instead of putting a sticker, tape or writing the baby's name on a bottle or sippy cup, you just slip on of these dish-washer safe "tags" on the item. Hello - it is only the same material as those LiveStrong bracelets. Brilliant. Ugh, why didn't I think of this????
I love how someone thought to extend the idea of "graphic tees" to pacifiers. These are super cute. You can get them at Target or Lots to Say Baby:
And honestly, there are no cuter socks than the ones byTrumpette. Visit their site. They are as expensive as adult socks, if not more, but really they are so clever you cannot resist them!!!

Tonight, while eating dinner, I realized I am a huge fan of Pita Bread. I honestly have no idea where to get pita bread other than a restaurant. Anyone? I am talking the warm, fresh, fluffy kind.
I wanted to highlight my three favorite pita foods in Tulsa, in no particular order:
1- McNellie's Artichoke Dip - I absolutely love it. The dip with the parmesan topping = heaven. Tommy goes here most Friday's for Happy Hour and I will have him bring me dip home to eat as my full dinner. It's that good.
2- Ella's Hummus - Ella's is located at 11th and Harvard, right across from TU. Tommy and I went here last week and had their hummus and it was the best I have ever had. I am not 100% huge on hummus, to be honest, but this was a life-changer. I asked the owner and she said if you give her notice she can make enough for a party. Honestly, this would be the best to bring to any get together. So good.
3- Leons' Mat Hoffman - I went to Leon's for dinner tonight and that is what got me thinking about my love of pita. Here is the description of the sandwich from their menu: Roasted chicken served open faced on pita bread with pan fried goat cheese, mixed greens and ancho sauce. I take the goat cheese and put it on the pita and wrap the chicken in it and the ancho chili sauce is just perfectly spicey. Delish. If you have not been there take the boy's. Lots of tv's but still female-friendly. I would say the atmosphere is similar to the Brook but the food is better.
Because I am feeling lazy, I thought I would fill out one of those silly surveys they have on FB. However, I must say, I am always drawn in whenever I see them posted. So, hopefully I can mildy entertain you guys!

Yesterday I went to Oklahoma City for my college roommate's baby shower. She is seriously one of the most hilarious people I know and I have been begging her to blog for as long as I have known what a blog is. But, alas, I must just report back on her. She has done one guest blog for me and I know it was a "fan favorite." (Since I have so many fans.)
Anyway, the shower was at the cutest house and no detail was left undone. But, not in a stuffy, uncomfortable way. It was in the most thoughtful and perfect way! Janie also considers herself "mother" to her two boys, Jock and Charlie. So, you would not believe how many puppy related gifts she got! My favorite gift was from her cousin (and the hostess) it was a dump truck full of books, doggy onesies/gear and chocolate and black lab stuffed dogs! What baby doesn't need a stuffed animal of their "brothers!?!"
I gave Janie a basket full of fun. I LOVE making gift baskets. Unfortunately, when giving gifts I am usually just giving one item (a super-expensive, so important, all I can buy is one item), so showers are perfect for giving them!
I found these pacifiiers at Target and because Janie has stock in Franzia, the 2nd paci just seemed too perfect for baby. (It says Whine Connossieur.) I gave some of these pacifier holders to my sister-in-law and they are so cute! Very trendy.
And, because I love lambs, baby had to have a lamb rattle.
Janie registered for this and I thought it was too cute. What baby doesn't need a themed washcloth? I know, they all do.

At the shower, the hostess had the cutest cupcakes from Green Goodies by Tiffany in OKC. Totally check out the site. Her logo is absolutely adorable. Unfortunately you cannot "borrow" pics from her site but you can get the idea when you go! According to Lexie, she will be opening a store near Nichols Hills for you OKC readers.
And, the icing on the (cup)cake was the adorable favor given to all of the guests from Crumbs. They were little chocolate (Charlie) or black (Jock) sugar cookies to take home. I took home a Jock. He looks very similar to my boys. Honestly, could this be any cuter??

In honor of the first day of Spring and the beautiful day we are supposed to have tomorrow, I am going to show you guys how you can do your own super easy tulip bouquet for your house! I did this a few weeks ago for Tommy's grandma's birthday and took pics along the way.
Supplies:
4 tulip bunches from WalMart $5 for an 8-stem bunch (they sell these at the Neighborhood Market too)
One Vase
Spool of Ribbon
Scissors
Fill the vase with water and sprinkle in the flower food that you get with the flowers.
Here is the flower straight out of the package.
Remove all foliage that will be below the water line. It will end up looking like this:
Cut at an angle. The container you are using is super important in determining how much to cut off the bottom. With the container I was using, I wanted them to stick up out of the container and stick up about 6 inches. So, I cut off about 1 inch.
Here is the vase with the first bunch of flowers in it. I just cut the stem and kind of put them in the vase around the entire mouth of the vase, making a circle.
I bought all my supplies at Walmart, so to determin the number of flowers I needed, I just stuck the flowers in the vase there to make sure the vase would be full. Here we are with 16 flowers. You can see how I am going in a circular rotation of adding the flowers.

And, now we are complete! See how easy that was!!
Even though I am not a huge bow girl, I feel like it is always the perfect finishing touch to a flower arrangement.
Total cost of this bouquet was $25. You would pay about three times that at the florist! So, try something new this weekend! Or, even try to get some from your yard and you will really have a steal!
I have been meaning to tell you all about these fabulous tortillas I get at the grocery store. Honestly, this is the closest you will get to homemade tortillas without going to a restaurant or making them yourself (that sounds hard!)
For you visual people, here is a picture of the package. They sell these in the refrigerator section at the Walmart Neighborhood Market. In mine (on 21st and Yale) they are below the cream cheese on the bottom part of the fridge.
They are super easy too. All you have to do is heat your skillet and place in the center.
Look how super delicious they are! They bubble get the little brown spots, just like the restaurant. Tonight I made a super easy dinner of tortilla roll-ups. I just put shaved lunch meet and cheese in them and Tommy thinks I am some kind of domestic goddess!
And, for dessert, I am having one of my most favorites in the whole wide world - pralines. My mom's are the most amazing! But, these Aunt Sally's pralines were a great 2nd runner up! Tommy was sweet. He knows how much I love pralines and his boss was going to New Orleans, so he asked him to pick me some up. I have always felt like pralines went with Mexican food, anyway. I think it stems from the El Chico in Shreveport selling them at the cashier stand...those and chiclets. Heaven!
I think I am getting sick and it is not from the St. Patty's Day beer! Blech! I will leave you with a picture of Megan's little joy bringer, Tavia! Today is Megan's favorite day of the year. I prefer my birthday or Christmas, but that is why I love Megan! She is a lot more fun than me!

You should see the invite that looks like this. This frame and print would look so cute on a hot pink wall. Love it!

Because my sister-in-law, Tori and I have a competition for Max's affection, I have created a new t-shirt which I will be wearing to Max's 1st birthday party, as Tori cannot make it. Bwahhaaa! Also, I don't think she reads this, so I think the pictures will be priceless. My cousin, Jennifer, loved the t-shirt designs that Janie came up - the "I slapped Weeza Boudreaux" ones. She offered her recommendation for another classic quote from the movie, when Shelby is talking about her wedding colors being blush and bashful. Then she goes on to say that "Pink is my signature color." How cute is that for a little toddler t-shirt?
Also, I have been working on some baby onesies for my many friends having babies (those of you having boys, pretend you are not reading this). I am customizing mine a little more but these are now available for anyone who might want to get their future sports star a little treat!

Happy Saturday! I so enjoy the weekend. No plans. No worries. I have no idea what I am going to do today. However, Tommy did say we need to go to the gym. Fun hater.
When I was trying to decide what to blog about I went through my favorites and realized I have no blogged about the site Charles & Marie. They have some of the most unusual things on their site, so I thought I would share some of my favorites.
I absolutely love clever ideas. And, I know they are so clever when I say to myself, why didn't I think of that? To me, this is such an innovative idea for a cake pan. You know when you have guests over and everyone says, I want just a sliver or I will have a regular size piece? Well, now the cake pan makes it easy for you! I am the world's worst about cooking too much or too little pasta for dinner. I can never get it right. This trivet does double duty -- it will hold your hot pans and also measure pasta for you. Brilliant!
And, these mugs were just cute. They have pig snouts, monkey faces and more!
I am also the world's worst cake cutter. I can never get the piece out. And, while being polite and not touching it with my fingers will drop it upside down and have to serve it with the icing on the bottom and cake on top. Actually, I just did this last week with Tommy's grandma's birthday cake. This contraption would fix all those problems.
In addition to my love of salt and pepper shakers, I also have a strange love for creamers. I have two really cute ones -- one looks like a cow (now isn't that clever) and one looks like a pup. But, this one is also really cute. You can put ice in the underside and your cream in the "udder!"

I love, love, love advice columns. Forever they were the main reason I subscribed to the newspaper. I mean, who doesn't want to know about other people's troubles and issues? This was voyeurism before Reality TV was the norm. I will never forget when my friend Brian got me a Dear Ann Landers book in high school. I have always been very mature for my age.

Since I am now finally "getting" twitter, I realized that I can subscribe to see people's updates and they can see mine -- off of this blog. For the longest time I thought that if I "followed" someone on twitter I would get an email with all of their updates. Just so you know, you don't. That would be so annoying.
Since I have had this revelation I have upped the number of people I am following, including my favorite person - Donny Deustch! (I have totally tried to contact him -- I don't think he shares my enthusiasm.) I also now follow the Today Show, the Celebrity Apprentice, the Pioneer Woman and Martha Stewart, which leads me to my fun find.
I will say, Martha Stewart is a loyal Twitterer. She has posted about the tragic fire in which her new puppy died, discussed her blog posts and even updated us on her comings and goings.
One of her updates included a link to a site where she has introduced her own line of evites. I had never heard of the site - pingg.com - and decided to check it out. The site is very much social network friendly and also a fun diversion from the evite.com site that we are used to.
I am totally not used to this time change yet. You would think I never travelled or anything. I think I am getting old. I worked until 6 tonight and then we went to the gym, so I think I am just thrown off. So tonight's post will be short again. Don't worry, tired as I might be, I was still able to go through my favorite blogs!
Allison of Allison Rose Designs posted the most adorable rocking chair on her blog today, that I have to feature! My sister and I are totally into this bird thing and this would just be perfect in a little girl's room. Love it!
Sticking with the outdoorsy theme, I saw these pillows on Cuteable today and thought they were just so clever!
This tiny angel (mostly) needs a middle name for when mommy catches him being naughty. When Carter gets in trouble it is just - CARTER!!! But, Pudge has a very nice middle name. When he gets in trouble he is Pudge Allen. So, I need something that flows and I need it soon -- because as you have seen here and here Carter can be a little naughty!!! (Yesterday we caught Carter with my sports bra in the middle of the floor as we brought guests in. Could have been worse I guess.)

Today was so fun! Tommy and I took the day off and went with Kristen and Baby Max on Baby Max's first zoo trip. It was 80 degrees and gorgeous outside, so we chose a perfect day. First, we saw the elephants. Max was slightly interested but not totally sold. They didn't move enough.
The baby monkey was a huge highlight. He had lots of energy, was banging on the glass at his viewers and doing multiple tricks.
We think Max liked it....although, he looks just not that into it ; ).
The polar bear was great! He would swim laps and then come and stick his head right in the window where we were standing. Max loved this.
About mid-way through the trip little buddy wasn't 100% sold on this whole animal thing. This picture is really sweet with Tommy and Kristen helping Max walk. He is getting to be quite a little walker!

And, I wanted to include a little bonus -- this is a picture we took of Baby Addison when we were babysitting on Sunday. She is so perfect and I think would make a great girlfriend for Max!
